How to: Easy Wine Charms

These wine charms are a snap to put together! The trick? Memory Wire: preformed coils of wire that hold their shape. Perfect!

Materials
  • Beadalon Ring Size Memory Wire
  • Seed Beads—suggested sizes: 11/0 & 8/0
  • Accent beads of your choice
  • Charms
  • Jump Rings

Tools
  • Round Nose Pliers
  • Memory Wire Cutters or garage wire cutter (Note: Avoid using jewelry wire cutters as they will become ruined if used to cut memory wire).

Instructions
Note: using memory wire for wine charms creates consistently sized charms that easily slide on and off wine glass stems. These charms work best when rings are beaded completely.

  • Start by adding a jump ring to your charm.
  • Cut a length of memory wire so that the ends overlap for half of the circle.

  • Using the round nose pliers, grasp one end of the coil and using a firm grip, roll the end inward to create a closed loop.

  • Add your seed beads and accent beads to the coil stopping at the middle to add your charm and continuing until the coil is full.

  • Now that the coil is full, grasp the open wire end with your round nose pliers and using a firm grip, roll the end of the wire inward to create a closed loop.

  • Repeat these steps for each additional charm.
